UX Designer

As a user experience designer you will be ensuring a product makes sense to the user by creating a path that logically flows step by step. You will explore every way that a user might interact with a product, their feelings and improvement strategies.

What do UX Designers do?

UX designer acts as a user advocate for the product, to make sure the customer has the best experience possible with it, they do create products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users. They will be designing the entire process of acquiring and integrating the product, including aspects of branding, design, usability, and function.

What does a typical day at work involve?

  • Checked Conducting desk-based and field research to get a full picture of who they are designing for
  • Checked Reviewing what the current website has to offer
  • Checked Communicating with existing users to look for opportunities
  • Checked Doing competitor research to see what else is out there
  • Checked Creating personas through user research and data
  • Checked Working with UI designers to implement attractive designs
  • Checked Developing wireframes and task flows
  • Checked Converting wireframes in to mockups (final imagery, colour, and typography)
  • Checked Collaborating with Designers and Developers to create intuitive, user-friendly software

How to become a UX Designer

Step 1
Take any stream preferably Science stream with Computer Science in Plus two

Students who have passed 10+2 (any stream- Science, Commerce or Humanities and Arts) from a recognized board are eligible to pursue their career in UI designing. However an orientation in Computer Science will be useful.

Step 2
Take BCA/ B.des - UX & Graphics Design

Take a bachelor degree in UX & Graphics design or computer application which is of 3-4 years duration.


You may also take up an Integrated masters program in design or a Diploma course.

Step 3
Take Master of Design and specialise in User Experience or take MCA

Take masters in designing or computer application which is of 2-3 year duration.


PG diploma courses and various certification courses in UX Design are also available.
