An Aviation Hospitality professional is someone who works at airlines, airports, or other businesses within the aviation or aerospace industry, such as aircraft manufacturers where they take care of the needs of the consumer.

What do they do?

Duties of aviation hospitality professional is mainly safety-related. Looking after the standard of customer service, Inspecting the aircraft, ensuring the safety equipment is in place and working properly are also important duties.They provide any special needs of passengers to ensure they receive the proper care while boarding. They also perform pre takeoff service and resolve work-related problems when necessary. After landing, attendants assist passengers in safely deplaning the aircraft.

What does a typical day at work involve?

  • Checked Ensuring whether all emergency equipment is in working order prior to take off and there are enough supplies on board
  • Checked Providing coaching and leadership to operational teams, monitor performance through the Spot Review system and ensure performance improvement
  • Checked Ensuring sufficient manpower at check-in, boarding and transfer desk to handle the passengers load on shift and meet their expectations
  • Checked Providing excellent customer service to passengers while ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the flight
  • Checked Developing and maintaining excellent relationships and open communication with internal and external departments
  • Checked Investigating discrepancies and customer complaints in a timely manner, identifying problem areas and course of action required to prevent recurrence of service failures
  • Checked Ensuring high standard customer service standards are delivered to VIP/CIP/IO passengers

  • Checked Making announcements on behalf of the pilot and answering questions during the flight

What are the job roles available in Aviation Hospitality ?

Airline cabin crew are responsible for the comfort, safety and welfare of passengers travelling on aircrafts during short-haul and long-haul flights.
Passenger service agents are responsible for the administrative and customer service of travellers. Handling baggage claims, ticketing are the major duties.
The primary goal of a culinary manager is to ensure that customers are pleased with their dining experiences while travelling.

How to become

Step 1
Take any Stream in 10+2

Students must pass with minimum qualifying marks in plus two to be eligible for admission to aviation courses.English is a mandatory subject for pursuing most courses in Aviation

Note : Cabin Crew

Candidate with excellent communication skills in english and a minimum qualifying marks in plus two in any stream (preferably maths) are eligible for attending cabin crew job interview.A certificate/associate degree programs in flight attendant training are optional.Age limit and health and fitness are other prerequisites recruiters usually consider. Job Training is usually provided by the designated airline.

Step 2
Take Bachelors in Aviation/ Hospitality

B.A/BBA/BSc in Aviation /Hospitality are the common course available in this area to be ground staff in the aviation industry.

Note :Diploma/Certificate in Aviation /Hospitality

Diploma/Certificate programs are also available in Aviation /Hospitality with a minimum qualification of 10+2

Step 3
Take MBA/MA /MSc in Aviation /Hospitality

The Graduates in any discipline are eligible for masters in Aviation and Hospitality.Duration of these courses shall be 2 years.

Note : Post Graduate Diploma in Aviation/Hospitalityy

Candidates with graduation in any discipline or diploma in Aviation /Hospitality are eligible for 1-2 year post graduate diploma courses in this field.
