As a Communications manager you will be responsible for effectively sending out your organisation’s internal and external messages. This includes communicating effectively with employees and management team as well as promoting your company’s mission products or services among the public.
Communications managers work closely with management teams and executives to give shape to the image and values of the company and develop methods of communicating them to the public using different forms of media. They serve as the company’s media liaison and spokesperson and it is their responsibility to ensure that the messages sent out align with the business strategies of the company. They also work on effective dissemination of internal messages within the organisation.
Although choosing a particular stream at plus two level is not necessary for pursuing higher studies in Communication it is always better to choose Humanities with Journalism which will enable you to get basic understanding about Media and Communication.
The common course offered at the UG in this area is Bachelor of Communication and Journalism(BCJ). You can either go for three year BCJ or BA in Mass Communication.
Although taking Bachelors in Communication and journalism is the best option for becoming a Communication Manager, any other relevant undergraduate degree will also make you eligible for Masters in Communication.
After completing the UG, you can go for Masters in Communication with specialisation in Public Relations or Communication Management.You can either go for MA in Communication or MCJ (Master of Communication and Journalism). These are usually 2 year programs.
You can also take up an MBA in Communication Management which is of 2 years duration.

Stress tolerance is important as they have to work with huge audiences and manage them effectively, which can be pressurising
They must be very creative and should come up with new ideas and concepts to present their brand and reach out to public
Writing skill is very important as they have to draft written materials and presentations to convey the ideas clearly.
