PR coordinator is the one who coordinates the programs and events conducted for the publicity of an organization.

How to become Public Relations specialists?

Step 1
Take any stream with journalism at plus two level

Taking any stream will enable you to pursue public relations in the future , however humanities stream with journalism or any other stream at the +2 level and securing a good score in these subjects would give you an edge for admission into undergraduate level courses in communication and journalism.

Step 2
Take Bachelor’s in Communication and Journalism

The common Course offered at the UG level in this area is BCJ. You can either do a Bachelor's in communication and Journalism of three years duration or an Integrated MA. in Mass Communication and Journalism which will take five years to complete.

Step 3
Take Master’s in Communication and Journalism

After completing bachelor's, you can take up two year masters degree either in MCJ (Master of communication and journalism) or in MA Mass Communication. Some universities offer paper on Public Relations as part of the masters program.

Note :Diploma

IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication offers Post graduate diploma course in Advertising and Public Relations. The duration of the course is one year.

Step 4
Go for doctoral studies

After pursuing a master’s in Communication and Journalism , you can go for an M.Phil or a PhD in a topic related to belongs to this particular field. PhD admissions would depend on your profile including research papers, projects and theses. Pursuing doctoral level studies will enable you to take up a career in academia.

  • Graduate Degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks

Strong IT Skills
