Physical Educators teach physical activities and sports to children and adult individuals to promote health and well being.
Nutritionists provide advice to clients about diet and nutrition and the relationship between good eating habits and the prevention or management of diseases.
Fitness trainers work in strength training and exercise activities to motivate and train clients towards achieving their physical fitness goals.

You can choose any stream at +2 level for admission to Physical education or Fitness training. However you may have a better orientation towards human physiology and wellness if you have taken up Biology as one of the subjects. For eligibility to take up a bachelor’s course in nutrition and dietetics you are required to take Science stream with Biology at +2 level.
Admission to some courses are through admission tests, physical fitness tests and sports ability tests, while for others the performance in +2 examination is the basis for admission. Hence you must focus on obtaining a good aggregate score in the +2 examinations. For taking up a course in nutrition it would be advisable to give increased importance to learning Biology.
For undertaking a course in Physical Education you should be physically fit and also have proficiency in sports and games. You should have good interpersonal skills to be able to work in a team. Perseverance to carry through under tough conditions is also essential. Good communication skills would also be an asset when taking up courses in nutrition and fitness.
Minimum aggregate percentage of 50% in +2 marks is required for admission to most institutions.

According to The United States Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of dietitians and nutritionists is projected to grow 15 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations.
Personal fitness training is also a growing industry and jobs in personal training and fitness instruction shows an increase of about 24% between 2010 and 2020 according to BLS, a study by the National Federation of Professional Trainers, USA concludes that salary averages continue to improve in both public and private sectors. With the emergence of corporate wellness programs and setting up of personal training studios, the business of personal training is becoming a much more specialised and trusted profession.
Moreover, according to the Future of Jobs report of the WEF, teaching jobs including that of Physical Education teachers are likely to remain stable over the coming years and with physical fitness being of paramount importance for overall development of students, PE instructors and trainers will continue to be in high demand.
The field of Food sciences is closely related to the field of Nutrition and fitness. Hence careers in these two fields have considerable overlap.
Nutritionists and Dieticians can also take up careers in Social service in the field of health-care and illness.
Graduates and post graduates in Physical Education work as Physical Education instructors in institutions. Also, qualified persons with postgraduate and doctoral degrees in different fields of Nutrition and Fitness can take up roles of teaching faculty in the respective institutions.
